Robert Balfour Tomlinson

Robert (Bob) Balfour Tomlinson (1924~2013)- Bob passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 89 years young. Predeceased by his son, Professor Robert David Tomlinson (2005). He will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Verna Lorraine Tomlinson (nee McBride); grandsons, Philip and Cyril (Jessica); daughter-in-law Juti and many relatives and friends. Bob was born in Vancouver in 1924. He worked for 26 years at Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River, Ontario. Bob and Verna retired in 1977 and moved to Osoyoos to indulge their great love of gardening. They were both active members of the Osoyoos community. Bob worked on the East Bench Water Board for many years. He was on the board of the Sagebrush Lodge, South Okanagan Health Society from 1985 to 1995. He was also a member of the Okanagan Symphony Society for 2 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 o’clock at Osoyoos United Church, 7814 Spartan Street.
