Marvin Ray Jones, 76, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 8, 2021. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his late wife, Brenda Jones; parents, Henry and Thelma Jones; brothers: George Jones, William Edward Jones, Andrew Jones, Henry Allen Jones, and Chester Jones; and sisters, Cora Jones and Johnnie Langston. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jones; son, Chris Jones(Katheryn); grandson, C.J. Jones(Audrey); step-daughter, Alisha Basham(Ernest); step-son, Chris Dees; step-grandchildren: Britany Carpenter(Aubrey), Codie Basham, and Bratcher basham; step-great-grandchildren, Layken and Eli Carpenter; and two brothers; Roy Jones(Linda) and Gene Jones(Peggy). Mr. Jones was a graduate of Olive Branch High School. He retired from the Memphis Fire Department after 26 years of service. While he was still a firefighter, he started his own business as a roofing contractor. He was a hardworking man his entire life and finished his last roofing job two days before he went into the hospital for comfort care. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. He was a longtime member of Central Church in Collierville. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 11am-2pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Blocker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to West Cancer Clinic.
