Joe Neal Plunk, 86, of Olive Branch, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013. He was a United States Army veteran, member of New Prospect Baptist Church, a Freemason, Marshall and Starter at Cherokee Valley Golf Club and was retired from the City of Memphis. Mr. Plunk, the husband of Maurie Plunk for 65 years, also leaves his two daughters, Deborah (Travis) Rhea and Denice Plunk, all of Olive Branch; sister, Shirley (John) Jorg of Chandler, AZ; brother, Lee (Connie) Plunk of Brighton, TN; three grandchildren, Misty (Brian) Wilson, Mindy (David) Miller and Danny Joe Wilkins; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Danny Plunk and a sister, Doris Treece. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, December 1, from 1 p.m. until service time at 5p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, December 2 at Memorial Park Southwoods. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial gifts be made to either New Prospect Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
