Jerry Faye Cornelius

Jerry Faye Chisholm Cornelius, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2023 in Tupelo, MS. She was born on April 25, 1939 to the late John Howard and Ada Lee Chisholm in Baldwyn, MS. Jerry was a lively woman. She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, making flower arrangements, fishing, and gardening. Jerry also loved playing games. Her favorites included dominos, and rook. Jerry was a member of New Garden Baptist Church in Independence, MS, where she resided and raised her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin “Buddy” Cornelius; three children, Ragennia Sowell, Lee Cornelius, and Jimmy Cornelius; her parents, John Howard and Ada Lee Chisholm, and two siblings, Mac Chisholm and Danny Chisholm. Jerry leaves behind her son, John Parker (Carla); 9 grandchildren: Chad Parker, Cody Parker, Alayna Parker, Amber Sowell, Angie Martin, Rockeal Cornelius, Jeremy Cornelius, Jonathan Mercer, and Josh Cornelius; 12 great grandchildren, and two special nieces, Tanna Jango, and Brandy Beaman. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 am with visitation beginning at 9:00 am at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence, MS.
