Jamison Powell, 43, of Memphis, TN passed away on January 6, 2024. Jamison was born June 24, 1980 in Flowood, MS. He grew up in the Collierville area and graduated from Collierville High School. He then went to Creighton College where he studied history and English. After his time at Creighton, he decided he wanted to study pharmacy. He went to the University of Memphis to get the credits he needed to apply for pharmacy school. He attended the University of Tennessee Health Sciences in Memphis for Pharmacy. He worked as a Pharmacist for 15 years. He began his Pharmacy career with Walgreens and ended at CVS. Jamison has always been musically talented. He has played many instruments including: piano, violin, clarinet, and bass guitar. In high school, he was in a Christian rock band. He also enjoyed traveling and has visited England, Scotland, Italy, and the Holy Land. He was a resident of the Midtown area of Memphis and enjoyed his time living there. Jamison had many friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edwin Powell. He is survived by his mother, Verne Powell; and his sister, Alva Verne Powell. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Collierville First Baptist Church on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 10:30-11:00 am with a memorial service to begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Samaritan's Purse (P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 38607) or the International Mission Board through Collierville First Baptist Church (830 New Byhalia Rd., Collierville, TN 38017) in Jamison's honor.
