Evelyn Alease Alderson, 94, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2024. Mrs. Alderson was born on May 8, 1930 in Millington, TN to the late Lether and Ruby Burkes. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Alderson; son, Don Duncan; stepson, Larry Alderson; granddaughter, Suellen Luttrell Feathers; step-grandson, Brook Alderson; brother, Walter Burkes; and sister, Betty Barton. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Luttrell; son, Mike Duncan (Loretta); stepson, Calvin Alderson, Jr. (Judy); stepson, Billy Alderson (Ann); stepdaughter, Deborah Davis; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. Mrs. Alderson worked the concession stand at the pool in Maywood and her last job was at Western Auto in Olive Branch. In her free time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, tending her flower gardens, and feeding the stray animals that were hungry. She especially loved cats. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Memaw” to her grandchildren. She had a smile that would light up a room and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Alderson was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church until it closed. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
