Danny Ray Butler

Danny Ray Butler, 65, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at home. A retired commercial alarm sales rep and graduate of University of Memphis, Mr. Butler was a much loved husband, father and grandfather who faithfully and cheerfully served the Lord throughout his life as a lay minister of music for several area churches including Longcrest, Victoria Heights and Berclair Baptist. A member of Kirby Woods Baptist, he was a choir member and enjoyed leading music for the Thursday senior Bible study. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia (Daughtry), his children John and Stephanie, his grandsons Alexander and John Tyler, his daughter-in-law Tracey, and by his mother, Doris, and siblings Ann and Bobby. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kirby Woods Baptist Church LOFJ missions fund. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25, from 5-7 p.m. at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch (6875 Cockrum), and the memorial service will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Kirby Woods Baptist Church in Memphis (6325 Poplar Ave).
