OLD TOWN- Thelma E. Boutin, 91, wife of the late Edward Boutin, died peacefully May 13, 2020 at a Bangor health care facility. She was born October 10, 1928 in Greenbush a daughter of Edward J. and Celia E (Pelkey) Vowles.
Thelma was proud that she and Edward built their house on their own. Thelma and Eddie always did everything together from family vacations and family gatherings to helping their son Bob in his store. Family was very important to Thelma, and she enjoyed visits from family near and far. Holidays were a special time for her, especially Thanksgiving when all family would return home for the holiday. She was an active Parishioner of Holy Family Church, Old Town and was involved in various prayer groups and funeral luncheons. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed doing puzzles.
She is survived by two sons Paul Boutin and his wife Karen of Cincinnati, OH, Robert Boutin and his wife Doreen of Old Town; five grandchildren Michele Boutin and her husband Michael Kennedy of Fairbanks, AK, Scott Boutin of New Zealand, Anne Boutin of Boulder, CO, Christopher Boutin and his wife Rue Hummel of Queens, NY, Tiffiny (Boutin) Byam and her husband Mark of Coventry, CT; four great grandchildren Alijandro Woodman of Stamford, CT, Isla Sites of Boulder, CO, Addison and Preston Byam of Coventry, CT; many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward in 2001, daughter-in-law Donna Boutin; brothers Arnold, Bob and Vernon Vowles and sisters Alice Michaud and Edna Langtange.
The family wishes to thank Westgate Living Center for the wonderful care shown to Thelma during her nearly three year stay there. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org
