HUDSON - The world lost an amazing man and heaven gained an angel January 17, 2015 when Samuel J. Green Sr., 82 died peacefully. He was born February 1, 1932 in Frankfort a son of Forest E and Elver E. (Lear) Green.
Mr. Green proudly served with the US Army as a Staff Sargent and was a decorated combat veteran during the Korean War. He was employed for 39 years at James River Corp, Mill in Old Town. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by six children Joanne Green, Samuel Green Jr., Robert Green, Marcia Green, Daryl Green, and beloved daughter Melanie Johnston; sixteen grandchildren including two special grandsons Tyler Green and Anthony Johnston; seven great grandchildren, a sister Maxine Burgoin and a brother Lawrence Green; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by infant children Nancy and Richard, and three brothers Forest, Paul and Alfred Green and two sisters Dolly Heath and Marion Thomas.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11 AM Saturday January 24, 2015 at Christ Church of Faith, 2274 Bennoch Road, Old Town. Spring burial with military honors will be conducted at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
