OLD TOWN—Richard Thomas “Dick” Baker, 91, died October 21, 2021 at an Orono health care facility. He was born March 7, 1930 in Old Town a son of John and Isabelle (Taylor) Baker.
Dick was a hard worker, starting at a young age, and worked many years at Great Northern Paper in Millinocket, Old Town paper mill and area shoe shops. He enjoyed time in the outdoors, his camp in Argyle, working with wood which included many trips to Peavey’s, and doing puzzles.
Dick is survived by his wife of 68 years Myrtle A. (Dennis) Baker; four sons Richard M. Baker, John J. Baker, Gary W. Baker and his wife Mary, Tim W. Baker and his wife Ann Marie, daughter Kathleen M. Baker; six sisters Theresa, Mary, Rose, Leona, Ruth Ann and Joan; two brothers Joe and David; ten grandsons, six great grandsons, five great granddaughters, one great great grandson and one great great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers John, Pat and Charlie, four sisters Helen, Marion, Lillian and Rita.
At the request of Richard, there will be no formal services.
