OLD TOWN and PRESQUE ISLE - Cecelia Brasslett Fullenkamp, 91, died peacefully Sept. 27, 2010, at Presque Isle Rehab & Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Ashland, daughter of Joseph and Celina (Goslin) Brasslett. Cecelia was an avid and capable gardener, coaxing amazing results from flowers and vegetables alike. She loved to remodel and build, and was undaunted by outsized projects: jacking barns, laying concrete, surfacing flagstone, and directing everyone else in the process. In her last few years she has enjoyed teasing and sharing stories with the many loving staff members at the nursing home. She never lost her wit and sense of humor. She will be remembered by her daughters, Cecelia Rice of Panama City, Fla., and Valeria Peterson and her husband, David, of Stockholm; her grandchildren, Christina Peterson of Hazlet, N.J., Michael and his wife, Noretta Peterson, and their son, Lucas, of Veazie and Matthew Peterson and his girlfriend, Fritzi Schwab, and their son, Oskar, of Frankfurt, Germany; sisters-in-law, Clara Brasslett of Bradford, Glenna Brasslett of Hudson, Helen Brasslett of Glenburn and Frances Wiergersma of Kenduskeag; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George Fullenkamp; brothers, Peter, Alphonse, Legori, Lee, Levi and David Brasslett; and sisters, Annie King, Ida Chaloux, Sarah Brasslett and Claudia Prue. Friends and family are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Interment will be immediately after the service at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
