Hampden - Brian Joseph Letourneau, age 53, of Hampden, ME passed away unexpectedly of a massive heart attack on September 20, 2023. Brian grew up in Old Town and graduated Old Town High School in 1987. He continued his education at Husson College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance in 1991. After college, Brian held a couple of jobs including at the Old Town – Orono YMCA where he met the love of his life, Frances (Fran) Crouse before joining the Army in 1997 at the age of 28. After graduating boot camp, Brian and Fran married and moved to Fort Richardson, Alaska, Brian’s first duty station. He spent the next four years at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC as a Senior Auditor, Human Intelligence. Brian spent the remainder of his 22-year military career stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia working in finance and budget achieving the highest enlisted rank of Sergeant Major. While at Fort Belvoir, Brian completed jump school and was very proud of completing over 150 successful jumps and becoming a Jumpmaster.
After retiring, Brian loved spending time with his friends, family and ‘big marshmallow’ dog, Kujo.
Brian is survived by his mother, Joan Letourneau, his brother David LeTourneau and wife, Shari, brother Jeff Letourneau and his wife, Debbie, step-daughters Tammy Klingaman, her husband Randy and children, Melissa Grandinetti, her husband Thomas and children, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Brian is predeceased by his father, Timothy Letourneau as well as his wife Frances Crouse Letourneau and her son Russell Crouse.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St, Old Town. Funeral services will be held at Birmingham’s on Friday, October, 6, 2023 at 10:00am. Immediately following services, inurnment will take place at Lawndale Cemetery, Stillwater Ave. Old Town. A light luncheon will follow at Holy Family Church Hall.
