Barbara M. Finch

Old Town and Bangor-Bob (74) and Barbie (70) Finch, passed away after a brief battle with COVID-19 over the weekend of September 12.

They are survived by their children, Matt Finch and Sarah Finch, and their grandchildren, Cody Finch, Alexis Boyington, and Sophie Finch. Barbie, born to Burleigh and Laura Shorey on May 25, 1951 in Bangor, Maine, is survived by her siblings Brenda Johnston, William Shorey, Burleigh Shorey, and Kevin Shorey, and by her mother, Laura Shorey. Bob, born to Lawrence “Laddie” and Maxine Finch on July 4, 1947 in Island Falls, Maine, is survived by his sister, Duska Finch.

Bob and Barbie were married in Stillwater, Maine on August 4, 1973. Bob retired from the Bangor school system after 40 years of teaching and proudly managed the Old Town Bowling league for many years. Barbie, a cosmetologist, spent her retirement caring for her mother and attending to the needs of her family and community. They were long time members of the United Baptist Church in Old Town and more recently The Rock church of Bangor.
