Adrien J. Dube, 85, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 6th, 2012 after a brief courageous battle with
lung cancer. He was born in Lille, Maine on December 3, 1926 to Edmund
and Celina (Bourgoin) Dube. Adrien was a WWII veteran and was honored to have served his country and always remained patriotic in every respect.
He marched in every Veterans Day and 4th of July Bangor Parade until his illness. He always looked forward to receiving his stripes for his veterans post cane. Adrien was employed at James River Corp for 42 years as well as operating his own small appliance repair business for over 25 years. Adrien loved taking walks, gatherings at the Seniors Club in Orono, talking with old friends, going to visit his son Joe, family barbecues, dancing and upon retirement learned to appreciate what soap operas were all about. He resided along with his loving wife, Rose, at a home on Pushaw Lake and would always tell everyone it was “nice out to the lake”. After many years of living at Pushaw, he and his wife decided to move closer to town and purchased a home in Milford in 2002. Adrien is survived by Rose, his loving wife of 61 years, daughter Patricia (Dube) Stoddard and husband Wendell of Greenfield, son Richard Dube and wife Diane of Greenland, NH, son Joseph Dube of Milford, daughter Nancy Dube of Brewer, son Ronald Dube and wife Patti of Milford. He is also survived by brother Normand Dube and wife Peggy of Vermont, Roderick Dube and significant other Velma of Grand Isle, brother Lawrence Dube of Oakfield, sisters in law Delores Ouellette, Lucille Breau, Priscilla Bouchard and brother in law Eddie Ouellette, grandchildren include Jamie Stoddard, Ronnie Dube II, Katie Dube, Nicole Dube, Danielle (Dube) Hurd and husband Andrew and Kayla Dube, six great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Adrien was predeceased by his parents, in-laws, sisters Teresa and Beatrice Berube, Jean Kenney, brothers Leonard, Richard, James, Chanel and Fern Dube. A private military service will be held in Adrien’s honor at a later date for immediate family.
