Eleanor Helen (Isselin) Brendline, age 87, passed away on June 30, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She had spent the last year and a half of her life in the company of the wonderful staff and fellow residents of Ocean Meadow Senior Living and Memory Care in Clinton CT.
Eleanor was born in Patterson NJ on September 1, 1936, to Anthony Isselin and Hilda (Vielfort) Isselin. She had one sister, Hilda Kile, who predeceased her. Her husband, Charles "Mickey" Brend line also predeceased her, passing away in December 2009.
Eleanor's greatest joy in her life was always her children who survive; Sharon of Woburn MA and Old Saybrook CT, Michael of Old Saybrook CT, and Bruce of Wappingers Falls NY. She is also survived by her grandson Andrew of Woburn MA who was the love of her life.
Professionally, Eleanor was a dedicated and well-respected Registered Nurse at Vassar Brothers Hospital Poughkeepsie NY until her retirement in 1996. It was soon after that she discovered the Connecticut shoreline town of Old Saybrook and had her dream house built on a lot on Cricket Court in 2000.
She spent days and weeks designing her landscape, purchasing countless plants, trees, and shrubs from her favorite nursery, Van Wilgens. Anyone who talked to her husband, Mickey, will tell you exactly how many holes he dug; 96!! She spent alt of her spare time in the years to come planting, pruning, and weeding the multiple flower beds.
She will be forever missed but always remembered for her sarcastic witty sense of humor, her "tell it like it is" attitude and her immense love of her family.
Per her request, there will be no service; however, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org)
