She was born on January 13, 1930, in Roberta, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Robert Lowell and Martha Tate Stephenson. Mrs. Bell cared for her family from a young age. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards. She had a big sweet tooth and never could turn sweets down. She was an excellent homemaker, entrepreneur, and an undoubtedly strong-willed, independent, self-made woman. Her family refers to her as the rock of their family. She was such an amazing woman in all aspects of her life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Elbert Stephenson.
She is survived by her three children, Herb Schmidt and his wife, Susan, Brenda Anderson and her husband, Robert, and Dean Bell and his wife, Sandy; one sister, Clara Ann Aikin; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Services will also take place at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City, Indiana on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
Interment will follow the services at Stephenson Cemetery in Magnet, Indiana.
