Spicey Hackett Dozier of Nashville Tennessee, age 82, passed away peacefully July 21, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born July 24, 1940 in a small home in McLures Bend, Smith County Tennessee. She was a graduate from Smith County High School and earned her Nursing License from General Hospital in Nashville Tennessee. She married George Conrad (Connie) Dozier on Dec 28, 1960; they were happily married for 52 years. Spicey worked at Donelson Hospital (Summit) as an ICU Nurse for 30 years. She attended the Donelson Fellowship Church and loved the Lord and her family dearly. She had a huge heart and a genuine love for people and made a major impact on the many lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Conrad (Connie) Dozier, her parents, Bill Hackett and Jewell Smith Hackett, and her brother Oplis Hackett. She is survived by her two loving children, Yolanda (Jay) Rogers and Steven (Tamela) Dozier, her granddaughter Alyssa Dozier, her brother Kemmel (Lucy) Hackett, her sister Weibena (James) McKee, and her sister-in-law's Carol (Murray) Dozier and Betty (Max) Dozier, along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial to celebrate Spicey’s life will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Visitation will take place on Wednesday July 26, 2023 from 11-1 pm. A service will follow at 1:00 pm.
Spicey’s family extends its appreciation to the staff at Skyline and Alive Hospice (Murfreesboro) for their excellent care. Spicey was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends and neighbors.
