Shelby Elizabeth Hickman

Shelby attended Harris-Hillman Special Education School from age 3 to 22. The staff of this MNPS school are extraordinary. Shelby and her family are thankful for the excellent education program provided by this school.

Shelby inspired her community (Old Hickory Country Club members and Harris-Hillman staff and parents) to establish The Shelby Hickman Golf Scramble and Auction in 2006. In 2009, the Shelby Foundation was established as a 501c3 organization to raise funds to support Harris-Hillman School and other organizations that support children and young adults with disabilities. The 16th Annual Shelby Golf Scramble was held on September 20, 2021, at Old Hickory Country Club.

Preceded in death by grandparents Jim & Nita Hickman and Jesse and Mildred Yarbro.

Survived by parents Joey and Susan Hickman. Brother Scott Hickman. Uncles Joe Yarbro, Jimmy, Bill and Mike Hickman. Care giver Isabelle Norris. Special friend Jennifer Garcia and many loving cousin's.

A visitation for Shelby will be held Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 am till service. at Tulip Grove Baptist Church, 563 Shute Ln., Old Hickory, TN 37138. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, at 12:00 PM with Bro Ben Clark and Bro Gerald Bontrager officiating. Interment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Jim Hickman Jr ,Bill Hickman, Joe Yarbro, Justin Lett,Todd Jenkins and Alex Cox serving as pallbearers.
