MANGRUM, James Earl Age 78 of Mount Juliet, TN, passed away July 4, 2012. James entered the U.S. Army at age 18, earning the rank of Sergeant in the 40th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He retired from Ford Glass Plant after 30 years of service to devote his life to missionary work. He took 65 mission trips to Honduras and 39 trips to other countries. He was a member of Hermitage Church of Christ and helped with the Meals on Wheels, delivering food to those who needed it. Preceded in death by his 1st wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Mangrum; parents, Bertrand and Audrey Mangrum; step-daughter, Carolyn Chandler; sister, Betty O'Neil. Survived by wife, Jean J. Mangrum; daughters, Mary M. Bennett (Tommy) and Linda M. White; step-daughter, Jean Claire Chandler; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Mangrum (Nancy) and Charles Mangrum (Juanita). A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother August Ruff and Don McAllister officiating. Burial will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 6, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
