Truck was my good friend.  When he saw me he would always say  HEY DUCK LEGS !!!  Gonna miss you ole buddy.  Your were the best.  Always had a smile on your face.  I always looked forward to seeing you at Ricky Hibbets fish feasts.  Good bye my friend  Nancy Hicks Bush

Ray Clark was one of the finest, kindest, and most generous people I've ever known. 

Just a good ol' country boy, even though  from Donelson, which isn't really in the country.

A true southern gentleman, and gentle man.

We met in Donelson High School around 1959 or 60, and became great friends. Being a few years older he took me and a few other pals under his wing, and drove us to many school ball games, dances, parties, beer joints, and other fun places. Newer cars he always had, and driving was something he always loved. Obviously that led him to long-haul truck driving (just like his Dad I believe) after high school was done. And his nickname eventually changed from Red to Truck, which lasted the rest of his life.

But it was my friend Red who bestowed his true generosity on a recent college graduate just before  Christmas '68 when he took me shopping for my girlfriend's present. I planned to buy her a jewelry box. He knew her, liked her, and suggested an engagement ring. I had no money for that, but he insisted "she was the one", and he paid for it (reimbursed years later). He was right then, and 50 years of marriage later he was still correct. Generous, kind, loving and smart the man was!

My wife and I always made a point of seeing Truck whenever we visited Nashville, and he always greeted me with "Hey buddy, welcome home"...…..even though I've lived in California since 1972. He traveled all over the USA, but Tennessee/ Donelson was engrained in his DNA.

I am so glad I was recently in Nashville for a quick visit and got to see him in the hospital shortly before he passed. Briefly reminiscing together one last time was extra special.

We will miss Truck. He would come to see us from time to time. We always enjoyed his visits. He was such a good person and  friend. He will truly be miss by all.  RIP Truck

Truck was always uplifting whenever we crossed paths!  So kind and precious!  He will surely be missed in Donelson.

I met "Truck" through my dad's service station (Packard's Service Center), where he was a regular. He was a great friend to everyone there and always offered to buy me a snack or drink, even if I already had one. He was always down to talk about the NASCAR race from the night before or races he participated in in the past. I'm thankful that I had the pleasure of knowing you and I'll miss hearing you honk your horn on your trips to Memphis! 

I am a lil lost for words. Truck was exactly how everybody has explained. Kindness man I've ever met and loved to talk racing.  Gonna miss all his stories. He was very instrumental on getting me to get my CDL license and it was the best thing I ever did. Gonna miss you Truck...
RIP my friend

Truck and I went to High School together. He was what you would call a true friend. After the Marine Corps I settled in California and he would visit every time he had a haul to California. He would always ask about my family and how they are doing. I was looking forward to a visit with him in October when I am in Nashville. We would talk of many old experiences that we did as young boys as well as many of our friends. I am truly going to miss visiting and catching up with him. R.I.P. my friend.

Truck was an amazing man that I got to know through the years. He always had a new a joke for us and his laugh would  fill an entire room! And almost every week we would reminisce about the latest NASCAR race and how it all played out. And I always looked forward to seeing him. Every time we saw each other he made sure to ask how my sons were doing, and he took an interest in their lives. So, he was like grandpa to me (as all mine have passed). He was a man with a heart of gold and a true friend of mine. You will be missed Ray “Truck” Clark!

Mr. Ray was and is one of the most generous men I have ever known. He gave every bit of himself to everyone around him. And as generous as he was, he was just as stubborn.  He always stood his ground on anything  he chose to do. And "No" was not an option when he had his mind set. But he had the biggest heart of gold, though he didn't want everyone to know. He has personally been a godsend to me and my family. We will all miss him immensely. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in peace my friend.

Truck was the most kind person I have ever known.  He had a heart of gold and was a very giving person. I have shared so many good times with him. He was instrumental in giving my nephew (Bobby Hamilton) a start at Nashville Speedway to start him on his way to NASCAR history. I am as you are too, devastated of his passing. My love to his family and many friends. He is now in his heavenly home with all of his racing buddies.
