David Craig Pinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted servant of Christ, entered his eternal home on December 15, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 70. Born October 22, 1954, in Sidney, Ohio.
A retired Nazarene pastor, David faithfully served his congregations for decades, demonstrating unwavering love for the Lord and for the people entrusted to his care. Holding a Doctorate of Divinity, he not only shepherded his congregations but also mentored and trained many young pastors, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership and discipleship. His ministry always reflected the heart of Christ, as he tirelessly sought to minister to the “overlooked” in society—the forgotten, the broken, and those needing hope.
David’s life was enriched by his unique and quirky sense of humor, which he used to bring joy and connection wherever he went. Whether through laughter or music, he had a gift for breaking down walls and pointing others to the love of Jesus. David attended The Donelson Fellowship in Nashville alongside his devoted wife of forty-seven years, Kathy Jean Higginbotham Pinson.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Pinson and Betty Jean Whitt Pinson, as well as his brothers, Michael Frank Pinson and Steven Lewis Pinson. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, his cherished daughter, Priscilla Danielle Pinson Lockard (Josiah), and his treasured grandchildren, Dinah Pearl Lockard and Gabriel Lee Lockard, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by many beloved nieces in Ohio, all of whom he held dear. Though our hearts grieve his passing, David’s greatest desire was that all his loved ones would know the love of our Savior firsthand. His life pointed to Christ, and his message remains: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).
A celebration of David’s life will take place at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on December 19th, 2024 officiated by Pastor Tommy Swindol. Visitation will take place from 3:00 - 4:00 pm with the service beginning at 4:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering David’s life.
