Bobby was a veteran of the US Navy where he entered in 1954 aboard the USS Piedmont, tender Destroyer repair ship and finished up his time in late 1963 on board the USS Robinson. Upon his honorable discharge from the military Bobby returned to Nashville. After working several small jobs, he started working for the Nashville Metro Government in the General Services department where he retired after more than 34 years.
During his time back in Nashville he met Linda (Hix), and they married on September 1, 1967. Bobby and Linda had one daughter Belinda, who was the love of their lives. They nurtured her and watched her grow into a lovely woman who gave them their 2 grandchildren. Bobby then wore the title of PaPa proudly. He cherished his time watching Lauren and Emily grow, becoming adults. His latest and greatest reward was the birth of his great grandson Everett Sinz. He has now rejoined Linda where once again, they are rocking on the back deck with him saying to her, "Hello Darling".
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Linda Faye Haskins, father William Elvis Haskins, mother Nellie Irene (Green) Haskins, 2 brothers Jackie Haskins and Billy Haskins. He is survived by his daughter Belinda Qualls (Jim), granddaughters Lauren Sinz (Noah), Emily Brooke Qualls, great grandson Everett Sinz, sisters Linda Willoughby (John), Mildred Haskins, along with several nieces, nephews and special friend and neighbor Chuck Pippin.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Sunday October 22 from 1 pm until 2 pm with a Celebration of Life service at 2 pm with Military Honors at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138.
