Billie Jean Armstrong Mercer, 91, passed away May 18, 2019. She lived a long full life and enjoyed many things. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Nashville Quilt Guild. In her free time she enjoyed quilting, sewing, shopping, and dancing. Mrs. Mercer retired from the Federal Reserve and enjoyed winters in Long Key.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Robert L. Mercer; Parents Sam N. Armstrong and Jennie Grace Haynes Armstrong; Sisters Sammie Grace Armstrong, Torrey and Mary Mildred Armstrong Marshall; Brothers McFerrell Armstrong and Cordell H. Armstrong. Nieces and nephews; James McFerrell, Vickie Grace, Torrey Stone, Dianne Marshall Dozer, Burton Marshall and Cordell H Armstrong Jr.
Survived by nieces and nephews Jimmy Torrey, Janie Broadhead, Susan (Jim) Link; seven grandnieces and four grandnephews.
Gathering of friends and family Wednesday May 22, 2019 from 4:00-8:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. Second visitation also at Hermitage Funeral Home Thursday May 23, 2019. From 11:00am until 12:00 noon. Celebration of Life will begin at Noon. Burial following at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
