Alan Charles Hudson, II, 54, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023. He was born on September 15, 1968, in Selmer, Tennessee, to parents, Al and Frances Hudson. Alan met and married the love of his life and together they raised a family. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Alan was an avid fan of the Tennessee VOLS and TITANS. He enjoyed watching any team play baseball, but was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, and was quite a player, himself. He possessed the rare quality of being athletic, enjoyed sports, yet, was a music lover, as well . . . of ALL kinds of music. He and wife, Sandy, attended as many music festivals they could.
Alan possessed the rare gift of being able to talk to anyone and “never met a stranger”. That was a gift of his, but also a gift to anyone to which he came into contact. He loved to prepare food for friends and family. He was quite the “master” of the grill and the smoker, often staying up through the night to prepare the meat. He was also very compassionate. When faced with someone in need, Alan was there to assist. His compassion was also evidenced by his tender heart. It was almost a standard practice to embrace someone and tell them he loved them as he was leaving. He had a fierce love for his family. He loved well, he was well-loved, and he will be sorely missed.
Alan was predeceased by his father, Alan Charles Hudson; his stepfather, Sammie Boroughs; and a grandson, Lucas Nash Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sandy Hudson; son, Joshua Hudson; daughter, Jessica Dean (Austin); son, Jacob Hudson; son, Jonathan Hudson; grandson, Aiden Hudson; grandson, Liam Hudson; granddaughter, Aria Mae Dean; mother, Frances Boroughs; sister, Kris Swafford (Doug); brother, Phillip Coleman (Dave); stepmother, Kay Hudson; sister, Brenda DeSmet (Matt); sister, Sherry Niblock (Mike); niece, Shayna Jerrolds (Matt); nephew, Nathan Benson; nephew, Brandon Silva; niece, Alex DeSmit; niece, Olivia Niblock; father-in-law, Eddy Williams; mother-in-law, Elaine Williams; sisters-in-law, Angela Ellis (Troy) and Candy Godwin (Kent); canine companions Neyland, Bonnie “Roo”, Benny; and feline, Ford.
