Sylvia Jean Manning

She loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, fishing and laying on a raft. She took pride in her flowers and lawn. She always had the prettiest yard on the block. She never knew a stranger and was a mom to all her children’s friends, growing up. She was an avid Royals and Chiefs fan. Sylvia loved her family and her dogs with everything she had.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Donna Hicks. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Ben Manning, her two children Donna (Shaine) Pennington and Ricky (Regina) Manning. Four grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Devin) Yardley, Colton (Kaci) Pennington, Aubrianna Manning, Jacob Manning and Samantha Gilio (honorary granddaughter), Three great grandchildren Dalton Yardley, Aspen Pennington and Dean Yardley. Four brothers, Henry Hicks, Johnny (Connie) Hicks, David (Angie) Hicks and Gary Hicks.

Sylvia will be cremated according to her wishes. A “Celebration of Life” honoring the life of Sylvia Jean Manning will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6th two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
