Richard D. Reever

Rich was born on March 26, 1943 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Raymond and Stella (Lawrence) Reever. Rich later moved to Salina, KS with his family where he graduated from Sacred Heart High School and Salina Area Technical College. Most of his career was spent working in the construction field in Western Kansas, and he was very proud of his work in building schools, office buildings, and government facilities.

He married Janet Myers in January, 1966 and they later divorced.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sister Karen (Rick) Mundell, Littleton, CO; his seven children, Michael, Olathe, KS; Dale, Bonner Springs, KS; Traci (Jim) Burney, Olathe, KS; Marci (Steve) Handley, Kansas City, KS; Jami (Kim Simons), Emporia, KS; Kyle (Heather), Olathe, KS; TJ (Bridget), Lee's Summit, MO; fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In his retirement years, Rich found a home at Poplar Court in Olathe, KS, where he had many friends with whom he enjoyed morning coffee, gardening, and barbecues.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in Olathe. The family will receive visitors starting at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Private inurnment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Salina Kansas, will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a food pantry of the donor's choosing.
