Richard “Dick” Shriver Earle, 80, of Olathe, Kansas passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2022 with the support of his extended family by his side. He was heartbroken from the loss of his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanne, who passed away in 2021. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving brother and friend to everyone.
Dick was born on September 1, 1941, on a submarine base in Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone (U.S.) to Captain Otis J. and Virginia L. (Reifsnider) Earle. Being the son of a submarine commander, Dick moved many times before settling in Pennsylvania. He attended school in York, Pennsylvania. While in Pennsylvania, he met the love of his life, Jeanne (Wheeler) and they were married on September 8, 1962, in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Dick worked in sales, marketing, and brand management for many food companies. Last, Dick worked as CEO for Dakota Brands International located in Jamestown, North Dakota. Dick and Jeanne were members of the Jamestown Trap Club and together were North Dakota State Champions in several categories. Dick enjoyed boating and sailing. He was an enthusiastic audiophile and enjoyed listening to music. He and his wife cared for and rode horses throughout their lives. Dick enjoyed driving many different cars over his lifetime. He was always excited to try new technology and electronics.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents Otis John Earle and Virginia Reifsnider Earle, brother Otis “Keener” Earle, and his loving son of 21 years David R. Earle who passed away in 1984.
Dick will be cremated according to his wishes. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 South Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS. A small reception to follow at the Olathe Connect 55+ community.
