Marsha Jeanne Collum

Marsha is survived by her children: Tracie Collum Boman of Olathe, KS; Christy Collum Hagler (Brant) of Princeton, TX; Britton Collum (Milli) of Guthrie, OK. Grandchildren: Madison Brown, Kobey Campbell, Kyler Hagler (Anna), Colby Hagler, Peyton Collum, Kinley Collum, Abbey Kliewer Mills; Addison Kliewer; Great Grandchild: Gentry Bitter. Siblings: Larry Finch (Janet), Bobby Finch (Aria), Arlys Finch, Gary Finch (Teri), Lindell Finch, Denise Lake (Bret), Colinda Storms (Stormy), Sheila Anderson (Terry) and many Aunts, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews.

Marsha was preceded in death by “her cowboy” Jim Collum; parents Euel and Mildred Finch, brother Glenn Finch and nephew Benji Finch.

Marsha was born in Roswell, New Mexico, the second child of nine. She was a great babysitter and helper to her large family. She graduated from Dexter High School and went on to Lubbock Christian College. She met the love of her life Jim Collum, “her cowboy” at a dance in Hobbs New Mexico after she threw a piece of ice at him. They continued to dance throughout their 40 year marriage. Marsha loved being a Mom and enjoyed all stages of her children’s lives. And then she got promoted to Meme which was one of her greatest joys in her life. Marsha loved her time with family and friends. Her relationships were important to her and she always made time to make memories with those she loved. Everyone will remember her smile, kindness and her feisty personality.

Marsha worked for the Rural Water District #3 for 30 years along with also being active in 4-H, Relay for Life, Chamber of Commerce and the Election Board. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and served in many roles at church through the years.

In her later years Marsha took up photography as a hobby which turned into a side business for several years. She loved to travel and Marsha & Jim enjoyed many trips to Branson along with trips to New Mexico and California to visit her family.

Marsha suffered from Alzheimer’s in her final years and through the ugly disease Marsha’s smile and “I love you’s” shined through.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Marsha.
