Linda was born on July 10, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to Shelby E. and Thelma L. (Bonar) Botts. She attended and graduated from Olathe High School “Class of 1967”. She met the love of her life, James H. Lester and they were married on January 20, 1968. Together they raised their two boys Allen and Steven.
Linda worked as a private child care provider. She worked as a volunteer for (Senior’s Serving School) at Westview Elementary School in Olathe, Kansas. She attended and was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Gardner, Kansas. Linda enjoyed collecting many different items: kerosene lamps, cook books and old vinyl records (albums, 45’s, 33’s and 78’s). Her largest collection is her Disney memorabilia. She enjoyed traveling to Disney World with her best friend, Jeanne. She also enjoyed reading mystery novels (Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys) and playing games on her computer.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Shelby and Thelma Botts and her loving son Allen Lee Lester who passed away on November 13, 1979. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, James H Lester of the home, son Steven Lester and his wife Carla of Olathe, Kansas and her granddaughter Samantha Lester. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 South Black Bob Road Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
