Jessie Lee Cole, 98, of Olathe, Kan. passed away peacefully on October 20, 2011. Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Tuesday October 25, 2011 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home-Olathe. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday October 26, 2011 at the funeral home with burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Odyssey Hospice.
Jessie was born August 8, 1913 in Liberty, MO to Thomas & Lucille Cole. Jessie worked at the CCC Camp during the depression. He was a hard working machine operator for 29 years before “Pappy” retired from Delco Battery. Hard work and labor was one thing Jessie knew very well; whether on the ranch, planting trees, working in his garden that he loved or even delivering groceries with his wife back in Mexico, MO. When time allotted he enjoyed to fish and hunt. Jessie had a giving heart and he was always willing to help others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great -great grandfather and truly will be missed very dearly.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 beautiful years, Eleanor E. (Brashear) Cole; son, Jessie; brothers, Randall, Lewis, Donald and Johnny Cole.
Mr. Cole is survived by his son, E. Leroy (Ann) Cole; daughters, Eleanor Ann (Bobby) Houser, Elsie Janet Klindworth, Doris (Rodney) Shipman and Cathy E.
