Cindy Jo Salinas, 69, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, Grammy, daughter, aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
Cindy was born on March 13, 1955 in Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri to Jerry Max and Wanda Lou (Hammett) Boswell. She attended and graduated from Olathe High School. She started out working as a licensed beautician in the city of Olathe. Then she earned her associates degree in Food Management Services from Johnson County Community College. She worked as a food service manager many years where she earned many awards and acknowledgements for her original recipes.
Cindy married the love of her life Rick E. Salinas Jr. They were married on September 27, 1985. She was a member of City Center Church in Lenexa, Kansas. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren. Cindy also enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and just about any craft project she could think up to do with her grandkids.
Her father Jerry Max Boswell, her loving husband of thirty-five years Rick E. Salinas who passed away on October 17, 2020 and her sister Sharon Tapp precede Cindy in death. Her mother Wanda Lou Boswell, three daughters Amelia Piccirillo and her husband David, Dawn Marshall and her husband Michael and Jessica Huayaban and her husband Joel all three of Olathe, Kansas survive her. Left behind to cherish Grammy’s memory are her fourteen grandchildren Carissa Reyes (Israel), Skylar Williams (Thomas), Courtney Cushenbery, Robert (Robby) Pence Jr (Elise), Jazmin Wyss (Thomas), Destiny Marshall, Memphis Pence, Joel (Joey) Huayaban Jr, Josh Huayaban, Jadon Huayaban, Julissa Huayaban, Jonah Huayaban, Jeremiah Huayaban and Judah Huayaban. Plus five great grandchildren Tegan, Jude, Atticus, Naomi and Felix. Cindy is also survived by her three brothers Ed Boswell of LaCygne, Kansas, Jerry (Booney) Boswell Jr. and his wife LeeAnne of Leavenworth, Kansas and Terry Boswell of LaCygne, Kansas.
Cindy will be cremated according to her wishes. A ”Celebration of Life” honoring the life of Cindy Jo Salinas will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 with a visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. at City Center Church – Door #5 17500 West 87th Street Parkway Lenexa, Kansas. A private family inurnment will take place in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Olathe, Kansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to City Center Church.
