Bobby Joe Lyerla

Bobby Joe Lyerla, Olathe, KS, passed away September 30, 2012. He was born October 4, 1932 in Columbus, KS to Holland and Deloris Lyerla, who preceded him in death, along with a twin brother who died at birth. He attended Riverton High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pittsburg State University.

A beloved husband, proud father, loving grandfather and uncle, he is survived by Mary Lyerla, his wife of 55 years; sister Joyce Worley and her husband Fred of Olathe, KS; daughter Jola Lyerla, Olathe, KS; daughter Trilla Lyerla, Baldwin City, KS; daughter Bobbi Kittner (husband Sam) of Takoma Park, Maryland; son Charles Lyerla (wife Laurie) of Overland Park, KS; son Eric Lyerla (wife Jessica) of Portland, Oregon; daughter Rebecca Plumley (husband Darren) of Erie, KS. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Olathe, KS, with a visitation from 1:00-3:00 prior to the service. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 in Columbus, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Olathe.
