Vera Velma Graham

Velma was born September 4, 1911 in Egypt, Oklahoma to Charles Marvin and Lily Octavia Martin Floyd. She was the oldest of seven children. She passed from this life on February 2, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 99 years 4 months and 29 days. She married Samuel Roy Graham on March 28, 1932. This union resulted in two daughters and two sons: Bennie Jewell, James Harold, Jessie Joan and Roy Carol who died as an infant. Others who preceded her in death are; sisters, Jesse Pauline Floyd Stephens, Mittie Lavern Floyd Ramer; brothers, David Thurman Floyd and Eugene Loye Floyd; granddaughter, Virginia Kay Benson. She leaves to mourn her passing: her daughters, Bennie Jewell Graham Ballard and husband Max of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jesse Joan Benson of Little Rock, Arkansas; her son, James Harold Graham and wife Ramona of Pearland, Texas; sister, Juanita Lofland of Mustang, Oklahoma; brother, Charles Marvin Floyd, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Ada, Oklahoma; nine Grandchildren, Kenneth Benson, Jr., Twyla Graham, Benny Benson , Dennis Benson, Kevin Ballard, Gwyndolyn Graham Dixon, Vincent Benson, James Graham, Jr., Kim Graham Amaro; Great-grandchildren, Samantha, Sidney, Zachary, Brandon, Crystal, Gabbie, Maddie, Kenneth III, Terri, Stan Lea, Jessie, Denise, Danyella, Sabrina, Jay, Keith, William, Patrick, Alexander; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Nicoma Park Church of Christ.
