Thomas R. Russell, M.D., age 75, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died on Sunday morning, March 22, 2015. Tom was born in Oklahoma City to U.S. Russell, Jr. and Stella Mary Grant Russell. He grew up in Oklahoma City, Topeka, Kansas, and Meeker, Oklahoma, where he met and fell in love with a high school classmate, whom he would marry, Carolyn Sutton. He graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and then chose University of Oklahoma College of Medicine so he could be closer to Carolyn. Tom and Carolyn S. Russell were married June 29, 1963. Tom graduated from medical school in 1965, and specialized in Cardiology, which he practiced for nearly 50 years at the Oklahoma City Clinic, retiring in 2012. He is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Carolyn; his daughter, Diane Russell Harbison, her husband Burt, and his grandson Thomas Harbison, all of Oklahoma City; and his daughter, Laura Russell, of Las Colinas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, U.S. and Stella Russell.
