Sharon Lea Mahan, 72, of OKC passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, March 19, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Memorial Park Funeral Home and a graveside service celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at 1pm, March 26th at Memorial Park Cemetery at 13400 N. Kelley Ave in Oklahoma City.
Sharon Lea Sharp was born on January 5, 1950 to Richard and Mary Alice (Tinsley) Sharp in Oklahoma City. She was raised and attended school in Choctaw, OK. Following her graduation from Choctaw High School, Sharon married the love of her life, Jack Mahan. Sharon and Jack raised three wonderful children during their 35 years of marriage.
Sharon spent several years working for TG&Y. She spent much of her life employed as a secretary at Tinker Air Force Base until her retirement in 1988. She then earned her CNA certification and spent over a decade as a medical secretary at Midwest City Regional Hospital.
Sharon Mahan was a kind and generous woman who loved animals. She taught her family the value of hard work. She was always willing to open her house to stray pets or a friend who needed a hand. She modeled unconditional love to her family and she was never happier than when she was surrounded by her kids and grandkids. Sharon was a loving mother, a proud “Mamo,” and a trusted friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mary Alice Sharp, and her best friend Janelle Culver. She is survived by her three children: Sherry McKie, Carrie Duncan and husband Darrell, and David Mahan. Sister Sherry Lindenburger and husband Robert. Eight grandchildren: William McKie, Amanda Campbell, Brittany McKie, Brandon Campbell, Dylan McKie, Justin Campbell, Clayton McKie, Christopher Mahan. Five great grandchildren: Ariahna Campbell, Nova Mahan, Jackson McKie, Bryson McKie, and Grayson Mahan who will soon be born. She is also survived by numerous other beloved friends and family members.
