Ruth Lane, 89 years old passed away on April 9th, 2022 at Burford Manor Nursing Home in Davis, Oklahoma. She was the widow of Noble Leon Lane since December, 2000. She was born in Paris, Texas on March 12, 1933, to Henry Franklin and Maggie (Perkins) Murray.
Ruth was employed at Western Electric (later known as Lucent Technologies) as a Layout Operator, where she retired after 38 years of service.
Ruth attended Southgate Baptist Church for the past 4 years and was loved by many church members. She enjoyed reading and working word search puzzles and visiting family. She especially liked to take her family out to eat on special occasions. She never met a stranger. Ruth was an encouragement to her family and friends. She asked Jesus to come into her heart and be her Savior just a couple years ago!
She is survived by children, Genea Mathews and husband David, Rickey Lane and wife Gwen, Vickey Robinson and husband Tom, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth is predeceased by husband, Noble Lane, children Dickey Lane, Beverly Hicks, grandchildren Trista Lane, Michael Carter, great-great grandchild Avah Bale’ Rose Poole, 8 brothers and 6 sisters.
A come-and-go visitation for Ruth will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral celebration service will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Southgate Baptist Church, 740 SW 4th St., Moore, OK 73160, with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115.
