Ruth Esther (Larson) Ireton, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, left us to be with the Lord on April 19, 2014, Oklahoma City, OK. Ruth was born on March 17, 1926 in Starbuck, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Clarence and Thilda (Jorve) Larson. She grew up in North Dakota, where her father, an Assemblies of God minister, pastored several churches. She graduated from Powers Lake High School in 1944 as valedictorian of her class.
Ruth attended college at Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri, where she met Robert Lee Ireton. They were married on September 27, 1947. As a pastor’s wife for over 50 years, she was a church pianist, Sunday School teacher, very active in her church, and helped her husband in many ways. Some of her family’s fondest memories of her are the times she played the piano for family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Robert Ireton and by her granddaughter, Christina Beth Ireton. She is survived by her sister, Gladys (David) Guenther; brothers, Lawrence (Ruth) Larson, Wes (Pat) Larson, Don (Monie) Larson; children, Robert (Glenda) Ireton, Sheryl (Lawrence) Young, Donna Juedes and David (Lori) Ireton; grandchildren, Chad (Jessica) Ireton, Taunda (Ken) Jenkins, Russell (Cissa) Newberry, Joshua (Amy) Newberry, Rebecca Juedes, Joshua (Tory) Juedes, Andrea (Nathan) Russell, Leslie Ireton and Nathan Ireton and many loving great-grandchildren.
