After graduating from Corpus Christi High School in 1950, he would enlist in the United States Air Force. Roy served his country in the Air Force for 10 years, afterwards working for the FAA for another 25 years as an Air Traffic Controller. He would also work for some time as an aeronautical instructor. After retiring from his days working in aviation, and when he “retired” he would stay busy with various jobs, including working as a courtesy driver for Mercedes Benz.
Roy would marry Carol Sue Haskins, the couple raising two daughters Cindy and Kristi. Throughout the years, Roy’s career took his family to several places including multiple locations in Alaska, Santa Fe, Amarillo and Bethany.
A man of God, Roy attended various different churches throughout his life, including Forest Hill Christian Church where he served as a Church Elder, One Church, and finally Quail Springs Baptist.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Womack, mother Jenny Womack, sister Margaret Miculka and brother Carl Womack.
He is survived by his wife Carol Womack, of the home; daughters Cindy Reddout, husband Tim, of Edmond, and Kristi Barnett, husband Brian, of Claremore; sister Leona Corkill; grandchildren Lauren Reddout of Edmond, Allie Reddout of Dallas, Texas, Austin Barnett, wife Kristen, of Oklahoma City, Brandon Barnett, wife Cambree, of Collinsville, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Brighton Barnett and Garrison Barnett; and constant canine companion, Sadie.
A memorial service in honor of Roy’s life will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162.
