Rosemarie Nichols

Rosemarie Nichols peacefully left her earthly home on August 2nd, 2022 to be at home in heaven with Jesus. Born in Oklahoma City, OK on May 17th, 1941, she was the only daughter of Robert Ray and Agnes Swafford Nichols. She attended Oklahoma City Public Schools and Capitol Hill Baptist Church. Rose graduated from U.S. Grant High School Class of 1959, Baylor University, and the University of Central Oklahoma.

Rose was proud to have been in many civic activities and a school crossing guard for Van Buren Elementary for over 18 years. She will be fondly remembered for her smile and dedication to whatever she attempted to do. She faithfully called to check on each and every absentee in the Encourager Sunday School Class for years and then prayed for them.

Her favorite things to do were teaching children, painting, sculpture, Bible study, traveling, eating ice cream, and watching OU football and Baylor football and basketball. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church where she loved Sunday school, Training Union, WMU, children’s choir, working in the nursery, Adult Choir, BALL Club, and the Jubilee Choir. If the doors were open, Rose was there!!

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother Jack Nichols, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephew Kenneth Updike. She is survived by her sister-in-law- Ruth Nichols, nephew Jonothon Updike, nieces Dawn Updike, Heather Walsh, many cousins, great nieces Lauren (Justin) Bradley, Savannah Updike, Annabeth Updike and great great nephew Ryker Bradley.

The funeral service will be held on August 5th 2022 at 2:00 at Southern Hills Baptist Church 8601 S Pennsylvania Ave. Oklahoma City, OK with an interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
