Ronald "Keith" Smith, D.D.S. passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023, after a long battle with dementia and Parkinson's disease. Keith was born on November 27, 1951 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wilburton High School in Wilburton, Oklahoma in 1970 and then attended Easter State College for two years before enrolling in the College of Dentistry at the University of Oklahoma where he graduated in 1978. It was during this time he met, fell in love, and married his wife, Andrea.
Dr. Smith practiced dentistry for 40 years with dental practices in Pawnee, Oklahoma and Blanchard, Oklahoma. He practiced at Joseph Harp Correctional Facility in Lexington, Oklahoma for the last ten years of his career. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.J. and Norma Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma. Keith leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Andrea, sons Ryan and Jordan, his daughter-in-law, Paula, and grandsons, Mason and Cade. He also leaves behind a sister, Linda and her husband Richard Steed, three brothers, Stanley and his wife, Robin; David and his wife Becky; and Terry and his wife Gina. He had four nieces, nine nephews, thirteen great nieces, four great nephews, one great niece and one great nephew.
Keith's greatest joy in life was his family, especially time spent with his wife, sons, daughter-in-law and grandsons. His favorite sport was golf so when he retired, he headed to The Villages, FL where there were over 700 holes of golf to play. He spent his final years enjoying life in the sunshine state.
He was always very proud of his sister and brothers and their families and always looked forward to holidays when everyone would get together.
Dr. Smith practiced dentistry but found his joy in the many patients he treated and served over the years. He was known as a man of great character and was someone who always gave back to the communities in which he resided. He was a Rotarian for over 20 years and was honored as a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award due to his contributions to the organization and his community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper, Rose Hill Cemetery, 6600 Broadway Extension on June 30 at 11:00 a.m.
