Bob was born on September 7, 1954, in Red Oak, Iowa, to Charlie “Buster” Landers and Norma Faye (Karns) Landers. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1973.
Bob lived in Oklahoma City most of his life and spent the majority of his career as an umpire and was a member of the Oklahoma Officials Association and American Softball Association.
He enjoyed listening to early 70s rock, spending time with family, watching a football game, and eating good food. He liked having a good laugh with his grandkids and telling stories about his friends. He loved his family, traveling, and anything related to sports.
Bob’s family will always remember him as a good friend, father, and grandfather. He taught his son to be a good father, to work hard, and never give up.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two precious fur babies, Scooter and Dobey, who were such a big part of his life.
Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his partner, Mirna Rodriguez; son, Robert James “Bobby” Landers, Jr., and wife Heather of Yukon; brother, Charlie Clark Landers of Norman; sister, Paula Burroughs and husband Ollie of Norman; three grandchildren, Jacob A. Kelley, Ethan C. Landers, and Emilie P. Landers; three nieces and three nephews, as well as many other friends.
A memorial service for Robert will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
