In loving memory of Patrick Thomas “Pat” Crawley who left his loving family on January 11, 2024.
Pat was born on September 3, 1943, to Jack and Lucille Crawley in Wichita, KS. At the age of fourteen, he relocated to Oklahoma, where he met the love of his life, Diane, in April 1966. They were married seven months later. Pat was a deeply devoted husband and father and led a remarkable life of service and adventure.
As a police officer for the city of Midwest City, Pat's impact was profound. He pioneered the SWAT team and founded the Fraternal Order of Police, holding the position of president for the first two years. His commitment to justice led him to law school at the University of Oklahoma, earning his Juris Doctorate degree with honors. During his time in law school, he served as a clerk to the Oklahoma Supreme Court. After graduation, he joined the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, later transitioning to the District Attorney’s office, and finally establishing his own criminal defense practice.
Beyond his professional achievements, Pat found joy in exploring the open road with his family in their RV, creating enduring memories along the way. His role as a loving "pappy" to his grandkids brought him immense pride, and his legacy will live on through the warmth and love he shared with them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Diane Crawley. His son Chad Crawley and Christy Smith and children Jordan and Taylor Crawley and Madison, Alexa, and Kai Smith. His daughter Regan and Jeffrey Kelly and their children Bryce and Dylan Kelly. Pat cherished a special bond with his Sister-In-Law Sandra Carlile and nieces Anita and Samantha Carlile and nephew John Carlile. Pat is also remembered by his siblings Jack, Chris, Bede, David, Rafael, Marie, Regina, Louis, Loretta, Carl, and Rose as well as countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his loving in-laws Al and Nancy Yeany, and brother-in-law Tom Yeany. Also preceding him were three brothers: Joe, Tony, and Kevin Crawley, and a beloved niece, Theresa Morris.
Pat, a truly kind and generous soul, will be fondly remembered not only for his impactful presence in the legal community and the immense love and joy he bestowed upon his family. A great man, devoted husband, unparalleled father and uncle, and the most wonderful Pappy ever. May he find peace, embraced by the memories of a life well-lived.
