While we were resting, our beloved father slipped away and joined his wife of 58 years. Norman was born in Red Oak, OK to Lloyd C. Booth and Amanda Z. Conway Booth. Norman lost his mother at the age of 12 but he gained a new mother when his father married Goldean Altman. Early in his life, the family moved to Holdenville, OK where he resided until he joined the Conservation Corps and was sent to Colorado. He joined the Navy in August of 1942 and was assigned duty on the USS New Mexico BB40 which saw action all over the Pacific from the Aleutian Islands to within 100 miles of Japan during World War II. He was wounded on January 6, 1945 and spent over a year in a military hospital recovering before being discharged and returning home to Holdenville. He met and married his wife, Bobbie Davis, after returning home in 1946. They added two children to their family and later came 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Norman spent 34 years working for Tinker Air Force Base as a Tool and Die maker. During the height of the Vietnam War, he designed and made a tool that allowed the jet engine mechanics to change out a part that they had previously would have to dismantle the entire engine just to get to. He then had to travel all over the country to all of the repair depots to teach the mechanics how it worked. He said the job he enjoyed the most at Tinker was when his unit was assigned to make the commemorative coins that were passed out to the public at the festivities for the 25th anniversary of Tinker Air Force Base. Norman was an extraordinary good and kind man who loved his family more than anything. All he ever wanted was for them to be happy and healthy He was very proud of them and always tried his best to let them know how he felt. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Norman is survived by his children, Harold Booth and wife Debbie, Karen Fessler and husband Phil; grandchildren, Deanna Lamarre (Ray), Marisa Ramsey (John), Jeff Booth (Jeanne), Kandice Fessler, Jennifer Smith (Wayne), and Victoria Lane; great-granchildren, Rachel, Eric, Lane, Jake, Josie, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Chelsea, Ava, Connor, and Kennedy; sisters, Virginia Mizell of Amarillo TX, LaDonna Simonsen of Mustang; brothers, DeeWayne Booth of OKC, and Darrell Booth of Piedmont; and numerous nieces and nephews.
