Melvin Marlin Black born on October 10, 1925 went to his heavenly home on February 6, 2019. A World War II veteran, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he walked his life with a stead-fast faith centered on loving God and his fellow man. Melvin was born in Gypsy, Oklahoma to Luie and Mary Black. He has one brother Marvin Black. Melvin joined the army on January 6, 1944. He served the 45th Infantry Division of the United States Army in France and Germany during World War II. He returned to the United States in 1946 and married his elementary school sweetheart, Lois Black, on April 22, 1947. They have five children, 15 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. He lost the love of his life after 45 years of marriage in January 1993 and gained an angel wife Reda Black on June 20, 1993 with 25 years more. Melvin built houses into his 90s. He owned MMB Construction for over 50 years and framed hundreds of homes throughout Oklahoma City and the metro area. He is a treasured member of Revive Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. Melvin is a storyteller, a prayer warrior, a gardener, a bird watcher, a fisherman, a hunter, and a valiant man of his community, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Luie and Mary Black; wife Lois Black; and grandson Lance Black. He is survived by his wife Reda Black; brother Marvin Black and wife Ada; children Charlotte McCulloch and husband Butch; Marlin Black and wife Rita; Michael Black and wife Paula; Carolyn Kupiec and husband Tom; and Sharon Moerlins; bonus children Merry and husband Bob; Brent and wife Linda; Renita and husband Ralph; grandchildren Anthony McCulloch; Melissa Duncan; Melanie McCulloch; Tiffany Greene; Tabatha Black; Trisha Adair; Kyla Francis; Amy Dean; Tammi Garrett; Tara Stine; Brandon Moerlins; Craig Kupiec; Talor Black; and, Amanda Leehan; and a host of great-grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, bonus great-grandchildren, and family and friends.
