Maxine Dyson White passed away December 13, 2015. She was born November 13, 1915 to James Reuben Orwig and Ilda Gladys Criswell in Kankakee, Illinois. Graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City with honors in 1933. Was employed by the Oklahoma City office of IBM as Office Manager for 11 years. She was Pastor’s Secretary at Westminster Presbyterian Church for 28 years. She was also secretary for the Downtown Optimists Club of Oklahoma City for 32 years. She married Donald A. Dyson of Philadelphia in 1947, who predeceased her in 1988. She married Charles F. White of Oklahoma City in 1991, who predeceased her in 2008. She served as an Elder and Clerk of Session at Westminster Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday School, and served on various committees. She was a member of Town Hall, Reviewers Coterie Book Club, Twelfth Nite Dance Club, and her Ruth Circle at church which was special to her. She is survived by step-son Charles H. White and his wife, Karyl of Houston; brother –in-law Thomas “Chuck” White and his wife Marlene of Columbia, Missouri, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews: Pam Warlaumont, Shelley Woodburn, Robert Roach, Becky Ellison, Lisa King, Cindy van Herreweghe, Cathy Biggs, Johathan Orwig, Stephen Orwig, Tom Huber, and Margaret Mills and their wives, husbands, and children. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Orwig and her sisters Vivian Orwig and Betty Roach. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 2, 2016 at 2pm in the Chapel of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 N. Shartel.
