MaryAnn Johnson

MaryAnn Johnson, 89, passed away on December 29, 2016. MaryAnn was born on May 17, 1927 in Choctaw, OK to Loran W. and Clarice B. (Wells) McGinnis. MaryAnn was raised on their family farm and graduated from Choctaw High School. She was working at Western Union when she met Ervin Glen Johnson whom she married on May 23, 1947. MaryAnn was a skilled seamstress, sewing for family and friends for more than 50 years. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, gardening, beautiful flowers, and watching the birds in her yard. MaryAnn had a strong faith, and the heart of a servant. She was a member of First Baptist Choctaw where she taught Sunday School for many years. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her father Loran, mother Clarice, and stepmother Viola, one brother (Eugene), sister (Lillian) and her loving husband of 46 years Glen. Survivors include her children; Glenna Boswell (Dwain), Diana Harwell (Steve), Dale Johnson (Kamara), David Johnson (Dianne), Laura Ramer (Robert), 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister Lorene Johnson and brother Bill McGinnis. Services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at First Baptist Church Choctaw, OK. Visitation with the family will be Monday January 2, 2017, from 3-5pm at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St. Oklahoma City, OK. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to First Baptist Church Choctaw Building Fund or OMRF.
