She was born January 13, 1925 in Oklahoma City, daughter of Mary Hall and Marvin Bealmear. She married Richard D. Chronister on August 15, 1942. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2000.
She was a retired employee of the Oklahoma State Senate. Previously, she worked for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and Oklahoma City Public Schools. She was an 88-year member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Triquetra Sunday School Class, and Lydia Circle of United Methodist Women. She was a life member of the Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary, Heartland Chapter of ABWA, and Shrine Widows Club. She volunteered at RSVP. Mary Anne and her husband traveled with the Oklahoma Retired Citizens Travel Club and enjoyed the programs of Oklahoma City Town Hall and Lyric Theatre.
Before retirement, she was active in her children’s lives as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls leader, on the Executive Board of PTA for 12 years and held every PTA office from the bottom to the top, taught in the Children’s Division of St. Luke’s UMC for 5 years and worked in the Youth Division for 7 years.
She is survived by son Richard D. Chronister, Jr., and wife Vickie, Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Mary Carolyn Pearson and husband Jim, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Susan Chronister, Karen Chronister, Craig Jones, Mark Jones, Laura Jones Zimmerman; Emily Pearson Rogers, and Susan Pearson Partington; great grandchildren, Carolyn, Abigail, Phoebe, and Preston Jones; Madeline and Scarlett Rogers; and Felicity and Violet Partington: and brother, Robert F. Bealmear and wife Fern, Los Angeles, CA.
Memorial services will be Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 N. W. 15, Oklahoma City.
