Marilyn “Sue” Terry was born in Oklahoma City, OK on July 19, 1949 to Jesse Edward Beck and Ida “Leota” (Moss) Beck. She passed away on September 26, 2024 at the age of 75 years, while admitted to SSM Health St Anthony-Midwest in Midwest City, OK, with her husband and sons, Richard and Jerry at her side.
Sue attended Choctaw-Nicoma Park schools, and met the love of her life, Larry Terry, when they both attended Nicoma Park Junior High. They married on August 5th in 1965 and raised 3 sons (Lonnie Eugene Terry, Jerry Wayne Terry and Richard Allen Terry) in the Nicoma Park area. All of her sons, and many other family members, were Nicoma Park Falcons and CHS Yellow Jacket graduates!
Together, she and Larry opened Larry’s VW Service located on NE 23rd in Midwest City, in 1968. She assisted her husband at their shop, and also worked at Chromalloy in Midwest City as a Master Machinist, making machine parts for military fighter jets, eventually retiring after over 30 years.
She was a fiercely devoted wife and mother, and a “more than wonderful” MEEMAW to the “light of her life” granddaughter Jesse Dawn Lay. She and Jesse were close and devoted to each other! In the most recent years, they spoke on the phone several times a day…
Besides being a VW enthusiast, she enjoyed the ceramic dolls that her mother-in-law made her, and was a dedicated “POWWOW” lover at various powwows throughout Oklahoma and other states, as well as Native American jewelry and artifacts. She was an avid Donald Trump fan, loved Oklahoma, the color blue, Cinnamon bread and decorated t-shirts and FOOD – especially shrimp and crabs! But, more than anything, she LOVED Jesus, and longed to meet him and other friends and family that she knew would be waiting in Heaven.
She was a good listener, and advice giver - finding humor in most anything! Her sense of humor and contagious laugh brought joy to all who knew her. She was relentless in energy, and dedicated to all of her family members. She was also a great cook-especially fried chicken!
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Lonnie Eugene Terry; her parents Jesse and Leota Beck; parents-in-law Edna “Ophelia” and Calvin “Eugene” Terry; Sister Judi (Hill) Jones and Brother Danny Hill; Sister-in-law Glenda Roberts and Brother-in-law Gerald Terry; Sisters-in-law Mary “Ellen” Hill and Judy Beck, and Brothers-in-law James Peery and Thomas Jones, Sr.; Great nephews Daniel Moghbel and Chance Mathew; and her dearest friend and Chromalloy co-worker of many years, Carlotta. Many of her fur babies will greet her at the Rainbow Bridge, as she loved them all!
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry Terry of the home; Sons Jerry Wayne Terry and Richard Allen Terry of Midwest City; Brothers Richard Hill (wife Patricia) of Harrah, OK and Bobbie Beck of Midwest City; Sister Cynthia “Cindy” Peery of Wellston, OK; and Dale Terry (wife Donna) of Newalla, OK. She also will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, business associates and friends!
