Margaret was born on February 5, 1953 in Oklahoma City to Thomas and Leona Boggs, joining her siblings John Aaron and Velma. She was a member of Texas Baptist Church in Choctaw.
Margaret attended Choctaw High School and on January 27, 1970 she married Richard Michaels who was the love of her life for 53 years. They lived in Alabama for a time while Rick was in the Army and eventually moved back to Oklahoma. She was a hairdresser in Midwest City for 50 years and loved her customers and it brought her great joy to make them feel pretty. She had a special love for her "shop girls". They were more than co-workers - they were a tribe of women that became "bonus moms" to all of the "beauty shop kids". They were her best friends.
Over the years, Margaret and Rick made a great life together. They had two children, Malissa and Matt - but were mom and dad to many "kids", including their bonus daughter Abie. Margaret always had an extra seat at the table and always loved having a house full. She was everyone's "other mom". She was a cheerleader, a score keeper, a seamstress, and the "pit" boss on race day. She was the advisor, voice of reason and the fixer of broken hearts. She had a fierce love for her friends and family. She had a smile that would light up the darkest room and never met a stranger. She was an original.
She was blessed with her granddaughter Zoe and grandson Ryan, whom she adored. They were her pride and joy and she was always eager for their visits. She was Nana to no less than a dozen more kids that walked through her door for dinners, sleepovers and just hanging out. She loved keeping up with her nieces and nephews and spent time on Facebook commenting on their accomplishments.
She held many titles and nicknames in life but WIFE - MOM - NANA were by far her favorites.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Leona, brother John Aaron and sister Velma.
She is survived by her beloved husband Rick, daughter Malissa Slingo, son Matt and daughter in law Abie, grandchildren Zoe Slingo and Ryan Michaels as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her.
A funeral service for Margaret will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
