Lee Freeman Garvin, 81 year-old resident of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away in Norman on October 17, 2013. Born January 29, 1932 in Mangum, Oklahoma, he was the son of Roy Lee Garvin and Birdie Rae Summers (Atchley) Garvin. Mr. Garvin was a longtime mail carrier for the U. S. Post Office and Choctaw resident. He enjoyed tennis and played up until he was 60 years old and loved gardening especially growing vegetables and sunflowers. Lee was a U. S. Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife Peggy Garvin of Choctaw, Oklahoma; 7 daughters, Nora and her husband Chuck Crist of Waxahachie, Texas; Susan and her husband Mike Jenkins of Chandler, Texas; Sandy Garvin of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Terri Wilson of Edmond, Oklahoma; Diana West of Moore, Oklahoma; Pamela and her husband Troy McCutchen of Collinsville, Oklahoma; and Patty Yarbrough of Harrah, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Sharon Mears of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73141 with Mr. Marty Kessler officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by a U. S. Navy Honors Detail following the services.
